Now sitting at 8-15 on the season and 7-9 in the Southeastern Conference with just one regular season game to go, Kentucky has guaranteed its first losing record in conference play since the 1988-89 season and just the third time in school history. Overall, the program hasn’t won fewer than ten games since Basil Hayden led the Wildcats to a 3-13 finish in 1926-27.

The most frustrating part of it all? They were right on the cusp of figuring it all out and “pushing over the edge,” says UK head coach John Calipari.
