LEXINGTON – Rarely has a game seemed less important for Kentucky basketball than Saturday’s regular season finale against South Carolina.
The Wildcats were initially scheduled to play South Carolina as the SEC opener in December, but the game was postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Gamecocks' program. Kentucky’s season already looked in peril then, thanks to a six-game losing streak, but there was at least still time to salvage the record.
