Kentucky's Tyler Herro, Keldon Johnson, Reid Travis talk about win over ACU Matt Stone, Louisville Courier Journal
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Kentucky will likely have to play its second NCAA Tournament game in a row without leading scorer and rebounder PJ Washington.
"I just can't imagine (him playing)," UK coach John Calipari said Friday.
Washington sprained his foot in the SEC Tournament semifinal loss to Tennessee, according to Calipari, and was placed in a walking boot as a precautionary measure. Upon arriving in Jacksonville, Calipari initially said he expected Washington to be available to play, but after the sophomore forward met with a specialist Washington and doctors decided the best path was to place the injured foot in a hard cast in hopes of quickening the healing process.
