John Calipari Answers Question about Confederate Flag in SEC Teleconference

John Calipari took questions on the SEC Teleconference this morning and one of the inquiries was from the Lexington Herald-Leader’s Jerry Tipton about the use of the confederate flag in Kentucky.

Calipari was more than puzzled by the question.

“Really? Obviously it offends a portion of our society, so people are deciding to take them down. That’s how I feel.”

He was also asked if he would take them down.

“Sure. They offend, and I would say do it, yeah. Does our state use the Confederate flag, Jerry? (Statue of a Confederate general at the old courthouse in Lexington and a statue of Jefferson Davis at the capital in Frankfort.
