John Calipari and Wildcats recap hard-fought loss at Louisville

You can add one final gut punch for John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats after closing 2020 with a 62-59 loss to Louisville on Saturday at the Yum! Center.

Kentucky, 1-6, is off to its worst start in almost a century and will have to make a run through the Southeastern Conference to salvage the season and make the NCAA Tournament.

The Wildcats continued to struggle offensively, going seven minutes without a field goal and finished 5-of-17 (29%) from three-point range, 14-of-22 (64%) from the free throw line and handed out just six assists. Mintz led UK in scoring with 19 points, while BJ Boston and Jacob Toppin added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
