Kentucky Wildcats QB Joey Gatewood has entered the transfer portal, head coach Mark Stoops announced Sunday. This came after Stoops confirmed that Will Levis was named Kentucky’s starting QB for Week 1 vs. Louisiana Monroe.
This means Beau Allen is all but certain to be Levis’ backup this season.
As usual, entering the transfer portal doesn’t guarantee as a player is leaving his school, as there have been many cases of a player testing the portal waters, then opting to return to his original school.
Saying this, don’t expect Gatewood back in Lexington, so hopefully he’s able to find a good situation for himself elsewhere.
