LEXINGTON — The Louisville natives in Kentucky football's freshmen class have learned a lesson in patience this season.
UK signed four former Louisville high school stars in its 2019 class — Moore linebacker J.J. Weaver, Ballard linebacker Jared Casey, Butler wide receiver Tae Tae Crumes and Doss linebacker Shawn’Kel Knight-Goff — but none played in the first seven games. Knight-Goff decided to give up football during that time, according to Kentucky coach Mark Stoops.
In a 29-7 win over Missouri Saturday, Weaver and Casey, both four-star prospects out of high school, made their long-awaited Kentucky debuts.
