The fifth-straight Governor’s Cup victory has produced a couple of weekly honors from the Southeastern Conference for two Kentucky Wildcats.
J.J. Weaver was named Co-Defensive Player of the week Barion Brown was tabbed Co-Special Teams Player of the Week by the SEC.
In his final game in his hometown, Weaver had one of his best performances as a Wildcat. The Kentucky EDGE had eight tackles and a sack, all while making game-changing plays in the second half of the upset over No. 9 Louisville. He forced a fumble and recovered the ball to set up a game-tying field goal.
