In a less than surprising announcement, Bardstown stand-out JJ Traynor has committed to the Louisville Cardinals.
Despite getting some recent interest from Kentucky, the four-star forward never received an official offer from John Calipari.
Once the decision was made to commit this week, it was pretty clear that Traynor’s likely destination would be Louisville. Cincinnati was another school that had momentum, but ultimately, it was Chris Mack who sealed the deal.
Keep in mind that Traynor’s father, Jason Osbourne, was a former Kentucky Mr. Basketball and played for the Cardinals.
Although the Cats did show some interest in Traynor after having him on campus, the fact that he never received an offer makes it obvious that he was a secondary option in what is a loaded 2019 class.
