Jerry Meyer says Marques Bolden “likely” to end up at Kentucky

Last week, several recruiting gurus switched their picks for Marques Bolden to Kentucky in 247’s Crystal Ball, a bit of a surprise given how packed UK’s 2016 class is already. Jerry Meyer was one of those gurus and yesterday, told the Herald-Leader’s Ben Roberts that after talking to some sources, he trusts that the 6’10” Bolden will “likely” end up at Kentucky.

That’s pretty encouraging, but I found Meyer’s comments about how Calipari balances so much elite talent much more interesting. While many recruits would be deterred by so many five-stars and so little playing time, Meyer argues that the best players see it as a plus:

“Somebody’s going to have to sit on the bench,” Meyer said.
