No one else will wear No. 22 at Highlands High School ever again.
On Friday evening, Kentucky football legend Jared Lorenzen’s jersey was retired at his alma mater in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky.
As seen in the photo above, Lorenzen’s family was invited for the ceremony prior to Highlands’ matchup against Conner High School, where they honored the former Wildcat’s life and time at the school.
Lorenzen, who passed away on July 3 at 38 years old, played for the Bluebirds from 1995-98. As the team’s starter in 1998, Lorenzen tossed for 3,392 yards and 45 touchdowns, along with rushing for 904 yards and 15 touchdowns en route to a 15-0 record and Class AAA Kentucky state title.
