Former Kentucky football player Jared Lorenzen inspired more people off the football field than he did on it. Dominique Yates, Louisville Courier Journal, Louisville Courier Journal
LEXINGTON — In Jared Lorenzen’s four seasons as Kentucky’s quarterback, the Wildcats won just 15 of 46 games. He never played in a bowl game. Lorenzen beat Louisville just once in four tries and went a combined 0-8 against Florida and Tennessee.
He was the Kentucky quarterback on the wrong side of the LSU game-winning Hail Mary that came to be known as the Bluegrass Miracle. Few moments better summed up Lorenzen’s never-quit mentality than when he yelled at fans leaving the stadium early in a seven-overtime marathon against Arkansas, but the Wildcats lost that game too.
