Jamal Murray’s dad says son is focusing on the “long-term effect” of his decision

This morning, John Calipari confirmed that there’s still a possibility another player will join next year’s roster, and although he couldn’t mention names, anyone with two eyes and two ears knows he’s talking about Jamal Murray. Coincidentally, ESPN’s Jeff Goodman and Jeff Borzello put out an article this morning breaking down Murray’s recruitment. In it, Murray’s father, Roger, tells ESPN that his son is on track to reclassify to 2015. “Technically, if he wanted to reclassify tomorrow, I think he could,” Murray Sr. said.

Okay, so if he wants to reclassify, where will he go? Even though Murray is used to be playing point guard and technically, UK already has two of those on the roster in Tyler Ulis and Isaiah Briscoe, his father says that’s not an issue:

“He’s good with or without the ball,” Roger Murray said of his son.
