Mashburn will play for Pitino once again.
After just one season at Minnesota, Jamal Mashburn Jr. will be a Lobo, following former Golden Gopher head coach Richard Pitino to New Mexico.
The freshman guard put his name in the transfer portal just two days after Pitino was fired at Minnesota back on March 17.
In his first year at Minnesota, Mashburn averaged 8.2 points on 35.0% shooting and 27.6% from three to go with 1.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest in 29 total games. After a slow start to the season, he finished the year scoring in double figures in 10 of the team’s final 12 games.
