LEXINGTON — The top-ranked high school football recruit in the Kentucky class of 2021 is staying home for college.
Frederick Douglass offensive lineman Jager Burton committed to Kentucky on Sunday over finalists Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson and Oregon. The 247Sports Composite, which averages the major recruiting services, ranks Burton as the top high school senior in Kentucky and No. 8 offensive guard in the country.
A 2019 Courier Journal first-team All-State selection following his junior season, Burton is the second four-star prospect to pledge to UK's 2021 class, joining his Frederick Douglass teammate, wide receiver Dekel Crowdus.
