Jacob Tamme's Swing for Soldiers Classic looks to add to the $500,000 it has raised to support veterans.
In 2010, Jacob Tamme and his wife, Allison, established the Swings for Soldiers Classic golf scramble as a way to support the Homes for Our Troops organization, which provides mortgage-free homes that are custom built to be fully accessible for military veterans with severe injuries. This event has raised over $500,000 in the last 6 years, and plans to continue to grow with this year's tournament.
As a former University of Kentucky standout and current Atlanta Falcons tight end, Tamme has received buy-in from many former teammates and Wildcat alumni that commit to supporting the event each year.
