LEXINGTON, Ky. – Few Kentucky basketball players have experienced more of a roller-coaster ride of expectations in their first few months on campus than freshman guard Tyler Herro.
As the lone non-five-star recruit in Kentucky’s 2018 signing class, Herro was originally projected to face a battle to secure minutes in a loaded backcourt featuring four former McDonald’s All-Americans. Then Herro’s stock exploded during the August trip to the Bahamas, earning comparisons to everyone from Devin Booker to Rex Chapman to Larry Bird when he lead the team in scoring in the four exhibitions.
