Since Lynn Bowden, Jr. become QB1 for Kentucky we’ve seen Eddie Gran essentially convert Kentucky’s offense into an option attack. In each game, UK has rushed between 35-64 times while passing the ball no more than 16 times. That has forced the staff to come up with a few wrinkles and one we have seen many times is the speed option.
In a similar spot, Kentucky went with this concept to take the play out of the crowded area between the tackles and give their quarterback a chance to use his agility against an inferior athlete in space.
