The Louisville Cardinals will be without a starting defensive back in Saturday’s Battle for the Governor’s Cup at Kroger Field.
Scott Satterfield revealed at Monday’s press conference that Russ Yeast will be sidelined vs. Kentucky after the junior underwent knee surgery. The Cardinals’ starting strong safety is fifth on the team in tackles with 61 this season. He also has recorded a pair of sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception.
The son of UK great Craig Yeast, Russ initially committed to UK as a four-star high school prospect. Yeast has been a starter for most of his career.
