Tyrese Maxey’s 27-point performance and Nick Richards’ dominance down the stretch were the major headlines from Kentucky’s 78-70 win over Louisville Saturday afternoon, but Immanuel Quickley also excelled and helped push his team toward victory. He deserves some recognition, too.
Quickley came off the bench but played 37 minutes, collecting a career-high 18 points to go along with three rebounds and an assist. He scored 14 of those points in the second half and overtime.
As someone who has often been regarded as the team’s best outside shooter, Quickley proved he could do more than that on Saturday.
