We knew an Immanuel Quickley breakout game was coming, and in the second half vs. Alabama, the backup freshman guard roared. Quickley scored 12 points, including a career-high three three-pointers in the final five minutes. Quickley has been improving steadily over the last month, and in the locker room, grinned when asked how it felt to help his team get the win.
“It felt real good. The team played well. I think we started to get into a groove, how we want to play in March, so it felt real good.”
Any player you’ll talk to will say that Quickley’s been putting in long hours in the gym; last night’s performance showed it’s clearly paying off.
