Immanuel Quickley did exactly what John Calipari needed him to do Saturday evening against the Gators. He put up 25 points. Actually, 26 to be exact.
Coach Cal publically challenged the sophomore guard to score at least 25 points repeatedly this week, beginning at the post-game press conference at LSU on Tuesday.
“I like to have five and six guys have a game with 25. And the reason is you get in the NCAA Tournament and you made need somebody to go crazy to win a game,” Calipari said following Kentucky’s win in Baton Rouge.
