Now before you judge me, let me explain.
While you were out enjoying Keeneland or picking pumpkins or getting married or doing whatever it is you like to do on Kentucky’s one weekend off in the fall, I got hit in the face with an unexpected illness that had me wishing for death. I still don’t know what it was because I couldn’t crawl far enough to see a doctor, but I assume it was whatever killed all of those people on the Oregon Trail, maybe worse.
