How Kentucky basketball can play NCAA Tournament games in Louisville

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Even John Calipari had trouble finding something to complain about Kentucky’s placement in the early bracket revealed by the NCAA Tournament selection committee Saturday.

The Wildcats were slotted as the top No. 2 seed. If the regular season had ended Friday, they would have been sent to the Midwest region in a bracket that also featured No. 1 seed Virginia, No. 3 seed Houston and No. 4 seed Wisconsin.

While the Cavaliers are undoubtedly one of the best teams in the country this season, they have looked vulnerable in two losses to Duke — something Kentucky can relate to — and will play this year’s tournament under the shadow of becoming the first No.
