LEXINGTON, Ky. - If the Kentucky baseball team is able to extend the life of Cliff Hagan Stadium by at least one week, it's likely the Wildcats’ results this week will have had much to do with reaching that goal.
Kentucky, ranked between sixth and ninth in the national college baseball polls, will go for the season sweep of Louisville Tuesday at Jim Patterson Stadium before hosting No. 1 Florida for a three-game series in Lexington starting Thursday. A strong showing in those games, and coach Nick Mingione and his team have to feel good about its chances to host a NCAA Tournament regional and closing out the Cliff Hagan Stadium era with a postseason appearance before moving into a new facility next season.
