How bad is Landon Young’s injury? Details about UK player’s surgery, recovery.

As is often the case with injuries, Kentucky wasn’t super specific about what happened to the knee of left tackle Landon Young, who went down Friday during a non-contract drill.

A UK spokesman confirmed that the surgery repaired lateral meniscus in his left knee, not a torn ligament of any kind for the former Lafayette standout.

The surgery was performed early this week and was a success, offensive line coach John Schlarman confirmed Tuesday afternoon, adding that Young has “handled it first class and I know he’s going to get back to full strength in no time at all.
