LEXINGTON, Ky. — The two college basketball programs with most national championships will meet for just the third time in NCAA Tournament play Friday in Memphis.
History suggests the winner of the matchup between No. 2 seed Kentucky and No. 3 seed UCLA could be in store for a special March too, as the victor of the previous two tournament meetings between the programs went on to win the national championship.
The first of those meetings came in the 1975 national title game when legendary coach John Wooden closed his UCLA career with the program’s 10th championship.
