Maybe I’m missing something here, but the College Football Playoff committee’s explanation for ranking Florida six spots ahead of Kentucky just isn’t registering in my brain. Maybe I’m an idiot (and many will say I am) but I’m not picking up what the committee is putting down here.
Rob Mullens, the chairman of the whole thing, said last night that “total body of work” outweighed Kentucky’s head-to-head win over Florida. He was quick to say, “Florida had the head-to-head over LSU,” in his defense of the Gators, but strengthening Florida’s resume for the LSU win only strengthens Kentucky’s resume because… KENTUCKY BEAT FLORIDA AND FLORIDA IS RANKED AHEAD OF LSU.
