LEXINGTON - Just more than two weeks ago, it was fair to wonder if sophomore forward EJ Montgomery was getting left behind in the Kentucky basketball rotation.
But following back-to-back lackluster performances in a shocking loss to Evansville and a closer-than-expected win over Utah Valley without him, it’s time to wonder if Montgomery might just be the Wildcats’ most important player after all.
“We played without one of our best players," Kentucky coach John Calipari said of Montgomery's absence in the Evansville loss.
