KSR would like to wish a big (very big) Happy Birthday to Shagari Alleyne, the tallest player to ever suit up for the Kentucky Wildcats. At 7-foot-3, Alleyne provided inside help off the bench for Tubby Smith’s Cats from 2003-2006, then transferred to Manhattan before a pro career that included some trotting with the Harlem Globetrotters under the nickname Skyscraper.
After basketball, Alleyne found his calling as a salsa dancer and I assume he is also the tallest salsa dance to ever do it. He’s very good and it’s quite a sight:
Today he turns lucky number 37.
