It was five minutes of competitive basketball in Kentucky‘s Friday-night battle vs. Stonehill. The Skyhawks jumped out to a 5-0 lead and led by as many as six, then had it within one point at the 14:42 mark.
And then the Wildcats had a double-digit lead two minutes later.
Primarily a zone team, Stonehill regularly gave up open threes and high-post jumpers to compensate for the lack of length and athleticism. That plan did not work, as Kentucky knocked down 10 first-half 3-pointers on 16 attempts while shooting 22-33 from the field overall to take a 58-37 lead at the half.
