LEXINGTON, Ky. — First-year Kentucky baseball coach Nick Mingione likes to tell the story of the 2006 NCAA Tournament regional at Cliff Hagan Stadium. Mingione, then an assistant, watched fans line up in temporary bleachers down the left-field line and he dreamed of what the program could become.
But surely even Mingione didn't quite expect the display Kentucky fans put on when the Wildcats finally had the chance to host another regional 11 years later.
Cliff Hagan Stadium was filled with rabid fans throughout the weekend, with more than 19,000 total showing up for Kentucky's five games.
