Only a little over a week after Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops left the door open for Gunnar Hoak to potentially return to Lexington, despite entering his name in the transfer portal, the quarterback announced he is officially heading elsewhere.
This evening, Hoak announced on twitter he would be transferring to Ohio State.
Hoak is a native of Dublin, Ohio. Thus, he will be closer to home by moving north to Columbus, but the move to the college football powerhouse seems a bit strange.
The main reason Hoak transferred from Kentucky was seemingly because he was stuck behind Terry Wilson, who likely holds the keys to the starting quarterback job for the next two seasons.
