There’s been a norm around Kentucky football for as long as I can remember — the offensive coordinator is a passing coach. Whether it’s Joker coaching the receivers or Shannon Dawson with the QBs, the offense’s foundation is through the air.
That’s not the case with Eddie Gran.
“We want to run the ball first. That’s what we’re going to do,” Gran said after the Cats’ first open scrimmage of the spring season.
Even though it deviates from the norm, it makes sense. The Cats scored 22 touchdowns on the ground in 2015 compared to 10 through the air.
