LEXINGTON - Kentucky and Louisville began welcoming college football players back to campus this month to begin preparations for the 2020 season.
Now, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has provided a vote of confidence about the season happening during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
"I believe that we will have college football in the fall pending an outbreak," Beshear said at his Wednesday briefing. "You saw what happened with the NBA (shutdown in March). It wasn’t that there was COVID out there, it was that there was an outbreak."
The governor was not ready to commit to college football games being played in front of their normally full stadiums though.
