Get ready, amateur alphas: Kentucky basketball isn't for everyone

Kentucky isn't for everyone.

We've heard coach John Calipari repeat that ad nauseam in reference to recruiting and high school stars who elect to play elsewhere.

That's a confident pitch; certainly on brand.

But prepare, amateur alphas, should you accept the challenge. The phrase also applies to players potentially entering second and third collegiate seasons in need of development to market themselves ready to begin a professional career.

Because we recently saw Charles Matthews at Michigan, Isaiah Briscoe in Estonia and Isaac Humphries in Australia: You could be compelled to leave Kentucky, in what might appear to some a desperate reach or premature desertion, for a better situation.
