Former Kentucky Basketball star Gerald Fitch is now college basketball head coach Gerald Fitch after landing his first head coaching job this week.
On Tuesday, Fitch was formally announced as the new hire at Central Georgia Tech in his hometown of Macon, Georgia, where he earned Georgia’s Mr. Basketball award (circa 2000) at nearby Westside High School before moving to Lexington, Kentucky.
New to the job but not new to Central Georgia Tech, Fitch served as an assistant coach at CGTC last season under then-head coach Reco Dawson, a four-time Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association Coach of the Year who now coaches at Shelton State.
