No. 20 Kentucky (2-0) defeated No. 12 Florida (1-1) 26-16 in Gainesville on Saturday, marking the first time since the 1975-1976 seasons that the Wildcats have defeated the Gators in back-to-back seasons.
The win was also special for another reason, as Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops secured his 61st win at the helm of the Wildcats, surpassing hall of famer Bear Bryant as the winningest UK coach in program history.
The game was ultimately decided by Kentucky’s defense who held strong to shut Florida down on back-to-back fourth down attempts in the fourth quarter, the latter of which led to UK’s field goal to put the Cats up by two scores.
