Kentucky Tennis came up just shy of the NCAA championship as a team, but the individual NCAA title dream is still alive for Kentucky’s Gabriel Diallo.
The last Wildcat standing in the singles bracket, Gabriel advanced to the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16 on Tuesday by defeating Chris Rodesch of Virginia in the Round of 32. Call it revenge for Virginia’s NCAA championship win over the Cats on Sunday. Rodesch is the No. 1 singles player for the champion Cavaliers.
Up next for Diallo, he will compete again tomorrow in the Sweet 16 against Ohio State’s Matej Vocel, a 9-16 seed in the field.
