Last week, Freddie Maggard opened up about his health in a powerful essay entitled, “I Wouldn’t Change A Thing.” For the past few years, the former Kentucky quarterback and KSR contributor has been dealing with cognitive issues that are now affecting his work and day-to-day life. Freddie is receiving treatment and therapy, and as part of his journey, bravely shared his story with Kentucky and KSR fans.
The outpouring of support from fans has been overwhelming in the days since. This morning, Freddie came on KSR to discuss his diagnosis — cognitive impairment, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and aphasia — and his new motto on life.
