A top-ranked homegrown recruit is considering staying in-state.
Four-star dual-threat quarterback out of the class of 2022, Gavin Wimsatt, trimmed his list of potential college choices down to nine earlier on Friday and the Kentucky Wildcats made the cut. The Owensboro native is listed at 6-foot-3 and ranked as the No. 40 overall prospect in his class, according to 247 Sports, the top overall player out of Kentucky, and the No. 2 ranked dual-threat QB in the nation.
Wimsatt is also considering the likes of Louisville, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Oregon, West Virginia, Rutgers, and Cincinnati along with the ‘Cats.
