Losing recruits is a fact of life for all college coaches, even ones such as John Calipari. But it’s not every day that Rutgers University swoops in and snags a top-50 prospect.
One-time Kentucky prospect and four-star center Cliff Omoruyi has announced on social media that he intends to join the Scarlet Knights. The 6-foot-10 high school senior is ranked as the 41st prospect in the class of 2020, according to 247Sports. He’ll head to Rutgers as the program’s highest rated recruit since Mike Rosario back in 2008.
Omoruyi previously cut Kentucky out of his list earlier in March, ultimately choosing between Rutgers, Arizona State, and Auburn.
