Former Kentucky football standout Micah Johnson may not have found success in the NFL, but he just accomplished something no CFL player ever has.
The former Wildcat signed a one-year, $250,000 contract with the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders, which now makes him the highest-paid defensive player in the league.
Johnson played at Kentucky from 2006-2010. He helped the Wildcats have one of their most successful seasons in recent memory in 2007, and in 2010, recorded 105 total tackles.
He signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants of the NFL following his 2010 senior season.
