Former Kentucky offensive coordinator turned East Tennessee State head coach Randy Sanders is in the news today over allegations he hit a player.
According to Joe Avento of the Johnson City Press, Sanders hit defensive back Tyree Robinson in the helmet during practice on Friday when he failed to take a knee during a drill. He has been placed on paid administrative leave.
Sanders served as quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator at Kentucky from 2006-2012. From 2013-17, he was co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Florida State. He accepted the head coaching job at East Tennessee State on December 17, 2017.
