As expected, D.J. Jeffries has committed to Penny Hardaway and the Memphis Tigers.
That was widely expected to happen when Jeffries decommitted from the Kentucky Wildcats over the summer. It was a bit of an ugly divorce, as Jeffries’ family claimed that Kentucky coaches handled the recruitment “unprofessionally.”
Kentucky didn’t miss out on much, as they ultimately landed commitments from four-star forward Dontaie Allen and five-star forward Kahlil Whitney. They’re also still in the mix for five-star forwards Keion Brooks and Jaden McDaniels, so Jeffries may have felt he was already being recruited over in his own class
It will be interesting to see what, if any effect this has on James Wiseman, who is a actually visiting Memphis this weekend.
