LEXINGTON, Ky. -- UK has heavy ties to the drama playing out in the Mississippi State baseball program Tuesday.
Former UK baseball coach John Cohen, now athletics director at Mississippi State, has accepted the resignation of Bulldogs baseball coach Andy Cannizaro just one weekend into the 2018 season. Former Kentucky coach Gary Henderson, who worked on Cohen's staff at UK then replaced him as the Wildcats' head coach, will take over the program on an interim basis.
And speculation online has already centered on current UK baseball coach Nick Mingione as a possible permanent replacement.
