On Monday, we learned that former Louisville offensive lineman Jamon Brown, now a member of the Atlanta Falcons, had donated $5,000 through to Jared Lorenzen’s family to help cover funeral costs.
He never met Jared Lorenzen, they played on opposite sides of the state’s big football rivalry – almost a decade apart, mind you – and grew up in different parts of Kentucky. Even still, the former Cardinal felt compelled to help out a Kentucky football legend out of pure respect.
“I guess you can say he was a legend in the state of Kentucky, and for me, it’s important to pay respect to those who came before me, whether they played for the University of Kentucky or Louisville,” Brown told Forbes.
