Former Kentucky basketball player Randolph Morris indicted for wire fraud and tax evasion

LEXINGTON - Former Kentucky basketball player Randolph Morris was indicted Wednesday on charges of wire fraud and making false statements on his federal tax returns.

The 11-count indictment alleges from 2010 to 2017 Morris failed to report more than $13 million dollars that he earned while working as a professional basketball player in the Chinese Basketball Association, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

The three wire fraud counts allege Morris deprived the state of Kentucky of more than $400,000 in tax revenue when he submitted false income reports for the 2015, 2016 and 2017 tax years while playing for the Bejing Ducks.
