LEXINGTON - Former Kentucky men's basketball coach Eddie Sutton died Saturday, according to a report from the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
The Courier Journal is working to confirm those reports and will provide more information as it becomes available.
Sutton, 84, was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in April. He is scheduled to be inducted as part of the 2020 Hall of Fame class in August.
Sutton won 806 games in his 37-year coaching career, including 90 while coach at Kentucky from 1985-89. He resigned at UK in 1989 while the program was was under investigation by the NCAA.
