Prepare for mass chaos when bowl season rolls around.
With individual conferences establishing their own schedules regarding non-conference games, conference-only slates, total number of games, and the start/end dates for each, the Football Bowl Association has filed a waiver to eliminate all eligibility requirements this season.
“A waiver seeking elimination of all bowl eligibility requirements has been submitted to the NCAA by Football Bowl Association executive director Nick Carparelli,” Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports reported. “A decision could come as soon as next week.”
Normally, a team is deemed bowl eligible with a .500 record or better.
